Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information Website Design Auckland collects through websitedesignauckland.com, why we collect it, who helps us handle it, and the rights you have over it. Website Design Auckland is operated by Click and Convert Limited, a New Zealand company (“we”, “us”, “our”). We handle personal information in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and its Information Privacy Principles.
If anything here is unclear, or you would like to ask about your information, email spiro@kwd.co.nz.
1. At a glance
- We only collect what you choose to send us through our quote forms, plus the basic technical data any website needs to run.
- We use it to reply to your enquiry and prepare a quote. We do not sell it or rent it to anyone.
- The site does not run Google Analytics, advertising pixels or remarketing tags, and it does not set marketing cookies.
- Two service providers help us: Cloudflare (hosting and security) and Postmark (sending the emails your enquiry triggers).
- You can ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time.
2. Information we collect
What you give us
Our “Get a Free Quote” form appears in three places on the site (beside the main headline, in the pop-up, and next to the FAQs). All three ask for the same details:
- your full name, email address and phone number;
- whether you already have a website and, if so, its address;
- optionally, your industry and your main goal right now.
The form also records which version of the form you used and the page you sent it from. If you email or phone us, we keep what you tell us in that conversation. Please don’t send us sensitive information (for example health, financial or identity documents); we don’t need it to quote.
What is collected automatically
Like any website, our hosting provider receives technical information when your browser requests a page: your IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, the referring page and the date and time. This is used to deliver the site, keep it secure and block abuse, and is not used to identify you. To filter out automated spam, the form also sends a note that JavaScript was on and how long the page was open before you pressed send; this is checked and then discarded.
3. How we use your information
- To reply to your enquiry, talk through your project and send you a quote.
- To send you an automatic confirmation email that we received your enquiry.
- To provide any services you go on to buy from us, and to invoice and support you.
- To protect the site and our inbox from spam, fraud and misuse.
- To meet our legal obligations, such as tax and record-keeping.
We will only send you marketing emails if you have asked for them, and every such email will let you opt out. We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.
Giving us your details is voluntary, but without a name and a way to contact you we cannot respond to your enquiry.
4. Who we share it with
We never sell, rent or trade personal information. We share it only with:
- Cloudflare, Inc., which hosts the website, runs the code that processes the form, and protects the site against attacks. Form submissions pass through Cloudflare’s network on the way to us.
- Postmark (ActiveCampaign, LLC), which delivers the notification email we receive and the confirmation email you receive. Postmark keeps a copy of those messages for a limited period so delivery can be checked.
- Our own email provider, where your enquiry is stored once it reaches our inbox.
- Professional advisers (such as our accountant or lawyer) where needed, and government or law enforcement agencies when the law requires it.
- A buyer or successor if the business is sold or restructured, on the condition that they protect your information in the same way.
Each provider only receives what it needs to do its job and is bound by its own privacy and security commitments.
5. Cookies, analytics and tracking
The website does not use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Meta (Facebook) pixels, remarketing tags or any other advertising or analytics trackers, and it does not set cookies for marketing or profiling. Our fonts and images are served from our own domain, so loading a page does not send your details to font or image services.
Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies (for example to tell genuine visitors apart from bots). These do not track you across other sites. You can block cookies in your browser settings, although parts of the site may then work less smoothly.
If we add analytics or advertising tools in future, we will update this policy before doing so.
6. Storage outside New Zealand
Cloudflare and Postmark operate internationally, including in the United States, so your information may be processed or stored outside New Zealand. Under Information Privacy Principle 12 we only use providers that are subject to privacy laws or contractual safeguards that give comparable protection to the New Zealand Privacy Act.
7. How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for as long as we need them to respond, to work with you if you become a client, and to meet legal and accounting requirements (for clients, usually seven years for tax records). Enquiries that don’t go anywhere are deleted when they are no longer useful. Postmark keeps its copies of our emails for a short period under its own retention settings, and hosting logs are kept by Cloudflare for a limited time.
8. Keeping it secure
The site is only served over encrypted HTTPS connections, the form is protected against spam and abuse, and access to enquiries is limited to the people who need it. No system connected to the internet can be made completely secure, but if a privacy breach ever caused, or was likely to cause, serious harm, we would notify you and the Privacy Commissioner as the Privacy Act 2020 requires.
9. Children
Our services are for businesses, and the site is not aimed at children. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you think a child has sent us their details, contact us and we will delete them.
10. Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can:
- ask whether we hold personal information about you and request a copy of it;
- ask us to correct information that is wrong, or to attach a statement of the correction you asked for;
- ask us to delete your information where we no longer need to keep it;
- withdraw from any marketing at any time.
Email spiro@kwd.co.nz to make a request. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we will respond within 20 working days. There is no charge for access or correction requests.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please talk to us first. You can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site or the law changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised, and significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
